In July we recognize National Pet Fire Safety Day, a time to raise awareness about keeping our furry friends safe from fire hazards. Here are some essential tips to protect your beloved pets and create a fire-safe environment:

1️⃣ Create a Pet Emergency Plan: Develop a plan that includes designated escape routes and a safe meeting place outside your home. Ensure everyone in the household knows the plan, including emergency contacts and nearby pet-friendly accommodations.

2️⃣ Pet-Proof Your Home: Eliminate potential fire hazards by securely storing flammable items, like candles and lighters, out of your pet's reach. Cover or secure electrical cords and never leave stovetops or open flames unattended.

3️⃣ Use Pet Alert Stickers: Place pet alert stickers on your doors or windows to inform firefighters of the number and type of pets inside your home. Keep the information updated to assist emergency responders in locating and rescuing your pets.
